The WPTBL was established in 1994 with the aim of ending the mess in the kick box world and functioning as an independent intermediary between martial arts schools, managers and promoters. In between that period and now a lot has happened, and what didn’t seem possible at the time is now a fact: there are now a lot of different associations in the Netherlands. Despite of this, the WPTBL has managed to stay afloat all these years with, of course, ups and downs; but we are still on the map.
From the 2004-2005 season up until now a number of talked-about events were organized again under WPTBL supervision after a quiet period, but now the WPTBL has been completely reorganized and renewed. The magic word in the renewed organization is “transparency”. As should be the case in an association, the members have a say and all our affairs are open to scrutiny. An entirely renewed “Handbook WPTBL” leaves nothing out and describes all of the association’s affairs, including the rules of competition. (the handbook)

In this way the board, with the support of its loyal members of course, is trying to restore WPTBL’s zest and character, which it deserves as an internationally respected association with, among other things, a ranking acknowledged across the world.
We still feel that maintaining strict guidelines, whereby everyone sticks to the agreements made, is the only right way. This will benefit everyone involved.
